The Waterford Museum Announces Participation in the
7th Annual Canal Clean Sweep on April 21, 2012
Statewide Cleanup Activities Planned along New York State Canal System
In recognition of Earth Day 2012 and in preparation for the upcoming 188th consecutive navigation season on the New York State Canal System, the New York State Canal Corporation is partnering with Parks & Trails New York, and the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation (EFC) to sponsor the Seventh Annual Canal Clean Sweep during the weekend of April 20th-22nd, 2012.
As part of this multi-community celebration, the Waterford Museum will host a cleaning party along the towpath near Old Champlain Canal Lock 4 (located in front of the Museum). Volunteers are asked to bring work gloves and arrive around 9am at the Museum. Work will continue until around noon, after which a free lunch will be provided for all of the Clean Sweep volunteers helping in Waterford at Lock 2 Park. For more information, please contact Teri Patton at 233-1686 or 527-3535.
