You’ve seen the Horses in Saratoga and maybe the Moose in Bennington, now Canal Mules are coming to Waterford. Canal Mule patrons will be known by their Majestic Mule ~ colorful, humorous, zany, exciting Canal Mule! Canal Mule 2014 will offer events and promotions from May 2014- October 2014 celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Waterford Historical Museum and Cultural Center. Patrons and Artists will be promoted in print, on the Museum web site, and in the streets. This will serve to bring more visitors to Waterford therefore increasing the business for all local merchants and be a source of pride in the community.
Canal Mule 2014 proceeds will support the Waterford Historical Museum and Cultural CenterMuseum. Support your Mule today! The Mules will be auctioned to the highest bidder at our Anniversary Gala.

ead an interactive discussion about folk music traditions.
Irish Language with Melissa Murray. Melissa will lead an interactive Irish language
lesson through music and games.

7-9pm- The Back 40 Band in Concert Playing aboard the Grand Erie

Tuesdays at 10- "Under Water: The Flood of 1913" May 28th
The Waterford Museum is proud to announce next program in our Spring “Tuesdays at 10” program series, “Under Water: The Flood of 1913.” In late March 1913, a significant storm swept into the northeast and brought devastating floods. This talk will highlight how communities throughout the Capital District, especially those along the Hudson River like Albany, Troy, Watervliet, and Waterford, were affected. Stay after to visit the museum to explore their new exhibit about Waterford and the Flood of 1913.

Irish Revolutionaries: The Fenian Brotherhood in Troy, Cohoes, and Waterford- Rescheduled

Tuesdays at 10-June 18th- Irish Revolutionaries: The Fenian Brotherhood in Troy, Cohoes, and Waterford– In the mid-19th century, Irish revolutionaries were not confined solely to Ireland, but could be found in the United States, including on the streets of Troy, Waterford, and Cohoes. Visit the Waterford Museum to learn more about the Fenian Brotherhood in this area, and how their activism caused them to clash with the church, politicians, and even themselves.
